Text Editors and Word Processors
I read an article today about Microsoft Word being dead/dying. I thought about it and spent about two hours scouring the internet for word processors and trying them out. My first resource was the nanowrimo subreddit. It had a ton of tools for writers and I tried about five of the text editors before I decided to do more research. I’ve been writing in .rtf lately (the collaboration called for it and it’s just kind of stuck). It’s a fine filetype - respectable and stout. However, none of the text editors offered compatibility.
Day Six!
Ahh, day six of writing the story of the Prophet. Things are going smoothly. I really do miss the character I was developing in the collaboration, but my partner needs some time to work and I can respect that, most assurely. Her work is always of high quality and if waiting is the only thing I need for that? Hell yes, I’m fine.
Funny, though, that in (46+2+6=54) days, I only missed writing on two. That’s almost two months, folks! Is that awesome? I think that’s awesome. I feel great when I wrote, I most certainly do. I think I’m going somewhere.
Long days and pleasant nights, friends!

They pay me absurd amounts of money,” he observes, “For something that I would do for free.
I did it because it was such a cheesed-off thing to do. To say you were going back to the book that was really popular and write the sequel. People read it as kids; then as adults they might read the sequel and think, this isn’t as good. The challenge is, maybe it can be as good - or different. It gives you something to push up against.
Shit
I broke my 750words streak. With my shifting sleeping schedule, I guess I just plain forgot. Though, it would’ve been fine if I stuck to my old habit. Oh well, as disappointed as I am, there’s no point in dwelling on it.
Starting again bright and early tomorrow with a new story. Oh, and in accordance with my pledge, I owe the 750words site $10. It’s not required, but I think it’s only fair. They’ve helped me get this far. Wish me luck!
Stuff
I think I’m running far too many stories for comfort. Currently I’m running two simultaneously and I only have a taste for one, really. Well, that’s not true… I’m running four and have a taste for two, but one is a collaborative work and I don’t always have the chance to work on it (we switch off on days for writing). I think my taste for this one I’m doing on my own is dwindling, too. I guess it’s important to understand, though; I just don’t have a taste for all the genres.
